Wood is a versatile material for laser processing. All types of wood can also be engraved. The final result depends on the wood used and the laser settings. Cutting is possible with plywood and thinner solid woods and veneers.
Laser cutting and engraving has many different applications. Branding and personalization of objects are popular. Depending on the laser parameter, many different looks can be achieved: From the engraving of small details to more traditional branding.
We can also make permanent color prints on the surface of plywood.

Types of wood and plywood
- Solid wood carving works well. The final result depends on the wood used and the laser settings.
- Oiled and varnished wood can also be treated. The varnish facilitates cleaning after the treatment.
- Plywood is well suited for cutting and engraving. Maximum thickness 12 mm.
- Veneer can be cut and engraved quickly and accurately.
- MDF and HDF can be cut and engraved up to a thickness of about 10 mm.
- Cork can be carved and also cut if thin enough.
- Poplar and birch, slightly less contrast when engraved for a bit more discreet look.
- Cherry, beech, alder and oak can be engraved at a high contrast.
- Solid wood cutting is not possible for pieces over 8mm thick. The edge is a bit less of quality and some charring will occur.
