3D-printing services

3D-printing enables the production of a digital model into a physical piece. With the help of 3D-printing, in addition to small-scale serial production, it is possible to create structures that are difficult to manufacture with traditional machining methods. 3D printing allows for lighter products, individual manufacturing and often generates very little waste. Examples of 3D printed products are prototypes, spare parts, consumables, miniature models and individual components of various structures. We mainly use PLA plastic as a printing material, which is a biodegradable and non-toxic plastic derived from corn starch. We use 8 printers, the largest of which has a printing area of ​​500x500x500mm.

A 3D-model file is required for 3D printing. We allow the use of the following formats: STL, PLY and 3MF. Ready-made, free models can be downloaded from, for example Thingiverse. If you wish to create your own model from scratch, you can use almost any CAD- or 3D-modeling software to do just that! Free modeling softwares include SketchUp, Sculptris and the simple, easy-to-use web-based Tinkercad.
